UserTime is software for recording and analyzing the time you spend on your computer. It runs in the background and tracks the time each user has been logged on as well as the time they have been actively using the computer. You can view usage history as a quick summary or by viewing or printing one of the reports or graphs. There are configurable options available for each report so you can easily view statistics over a range of days and times. The software can be set to run automatically when you log-on. It can then be set to run as an icon in the notification area of your taskbar (system tray).
UserTime can be installed in a network environment with a central data file. This allows comparison of activity time and computer running time for users on different computers.
UserTime can also help manage the time you spend on your projects. It features multiple stopwatches that can keep a record of the time you spend on separate projects. The time on each stopwatch can be individually saved. You can close a stopwatch and load it again later keeping the previous times. Stopwatches record total running time as well as the time you have been active. If you are timing a project on your computer when you are distracted by something else and forget to pause the stopwatch, the “active time” counter will still show you the time you were actively working on the project, it will automatically pause when you stop using your computer.
Some practical applications for UserTime include:
